Be a catalyst for exceptional and accessible education through innovative teaching, engaged learning, and transformative experiences for the benefit of our students, the communities we serve, and the world we live in. The mission includes focused, two year professional offerings, the pre-baccalaureate curricula to prepare students for successful transfer, and baccalaureate offerings targeting the needs of the area. Gordon State College fully serves the community by providing educational and cultural opportunities both within and beyond the Barnesville area.

  • With an enrollment of more than 3,400 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of less than 20:1, Gordon offers an intimate academic setting where its students can receive the individualized attention that only a small college can provide. The majority of students are from Georgia, but as many as 38 different countries are represented in its student body.

  • Gordon State College is a state, residential college offering its students more than 27 degree as well as baccalaureate degrees in early childhood education, biology, history, English, nursing, mathematics, health services and informatics administration, management & administration, interdisciplinary studies, and human services.

Students also may enroll in cooperative degree programs with local technical colleges. Gordon State College offers a highly regarded program in nursing and students may enroll for the two year associate degree in nursing or earn a RN to BSN degree.

  • Gordon State College also offers courses in McDonough, Griffin and Macon.

  • Gordon had an economic impact of more than $136 million during FY 2010.
