Full Description

The Undergraduate Certificate in Health Information Technology (HIT) Program is designed for students with background in Information Technology (or the equivalent fields through experience or other course work) to gain knowledge in the field of Health IT.

This certificate consists of five core courses in Health Information Technology for a total of 15 credit hours, not including prerequisite courses.

Students graduating with this program will have a strong background in fundamental principles and applications of the use of information and communication technology in different healthcare settings, as well as hands-on experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems widely adopted by healthcare providers.

The program is delivered primarily through Internet  

Campus Attendance Requirements

No campus visits.  All coursework and assignments conducted online.

Credit Transfer Policy

Please contact the program coordinator for any questions regarding the acceptability of transfer credit.

General Transfer Information: When a transfer student is fully accepted to Kennesaw State University, the Office of Admissions notifies the Office of the Registrar that a transcript has been received. Transcripts are evaluated in the order they are received from the Office of Admissions and are completed within 4-6 weeks. Once completed, an email confirmation of transfer evaluation is forwarded to the student and transfer credits may be viewed on the Owl Express transcript.
