Program Description

The Ed.S. in Instructional Technology with a P-12 Technology Applications concentration offers an exciting and practical way to enhance the learning environment of the students with whom you work. Delivered completely online, the program calls for ongoing application of the instructional design knowledge you will gain, as well as the implementation of the new technology tools with which you will develop skills. There are two degree tracks (“P12” for public school educators, and “Non-P12” for corporate and higher education personnel). Successful completion of the P12-track degree and associated GACE exam leads to a GaPSC service certificate at the 6th level in Instructional Technology. By completing a few extra courses and taking the require GACE exam, students can “add-on” GaPSC certification in Library Media to their program as well. The Non-P12 track awards the degree but does not require the GACE exam and doesn’t award the GaPSC service certificate.

Our up-to-date program provides valuable opportunities for students to prepare to be instructional technologists and coordinators in public schools and/or technology trainers in corporate and higher education settings. In addition to earning an Ed.S. degree, students can take courses leading to an Online Teaching Endorsements (for P12 educators) or a Certificate in Online Teaching (for non-P12 educators/trainers). There also are courses on Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and project management to help prepare students for the industry certification exams.
