Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in General Business
Program Description
The general business major is designed to give students the basic knowledge, skills, and values of business that build on the foundation provided by the University Core Curriculum and that are required for professional careers in business administration. The program of study provides courses in key areas of business: introduction to fraud examination, internal auditing, data analysis: economics and financial applications, managerial economics, small business management, quality management, and consumer behavior. The program stresses the importance of critical thinking skills, diverse cultural perspectives, and ethical awareness.
Students who complete the general business major graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. All BBA programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have AACSB accreditation. All general business majors complete the BBA senior college core (21 hours); a common 21-hour sequence of major courses; and 18 hours of general (non-business) electives. These courses, plus the prerequisite Area F hours in business, economics, and accounting, provide each student with a solid background in business and management.
