Program Description

The online M.Ed. Middle Grades Math and Science offers in-service teachers the opportunity to pursue advanced training in their teaching fields. Top graduate faculty from University of North Georgia and Valdosta State University teach the courses. Teachers with certification in Middle Grades (4-8) Education Math or Science are eligible for this program. The 12-course program may be completed in four consecutive semesters with a full-time enrollment. Courses are offered on a continuous basis allowing for part-time enrollment. All coursework, including exams, is completed online.

Admissions Information

Baccalaureate from a regionally accredited, four year institution with at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 (4.0 scale) calculated in accordance with Graduate Admissions procedures.

Employment as a teacher in a Middle Grades classroom working with students at least 20 hours per week.

Clear/renewable teaching certificate in Middle Grades Math or Middle Grades Science in the state of Georgia. Graduate Admissions will verify your certificate through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC).

Teachers certified in states other than Georgia may be eligible. To qualify, you must hold the equivalent of a Georgia clear/renewable teaching certificate. Please contact Graduate Admissions for additional information.
