Personalized Learning Endorsement
The Personalized Learning Endorsement (PLE) program is fully online and designed for educators holding a Georgia PSC clear, renewable teaching certificate. If you do NOT hold a clear, renewable GA teaching certificate, please apply to the Personalized Learning "Certificate" program.
The Department of Instructional Technology in the Bagwell College of Education is now offering the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Personalized Learning Endorsement program. The purpose of the program is to provide learners with a foundational understanding of what personalized learning is, and the competencies necessary to effectively personalize a classroom or course. Learners demonstrate ten competencies as outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) standards and plan how to personalize their own classrooms. The program consists of 3 graduate courses (ITEC 7600, ITEC 7602, and ITEC 7603) that include the following competencies: Prioritized Executive Function, Learner Agency, Asset-based Dispositions, Growth and Mastery Mindset, Authentic and Adaptive Assessment, Flexible Education Resources, Individualized Path, Dynamic Communication, Expanded Collaboration, and Life-Long Professional Learning.
The PLE will be the first Personalized Learning program for K-12 teachers in the state of Georgia. Learners will use field experiences in the second and third courses to transform learning experiences in their classrooms to be more personalized for Georgia K-12 students. This program models personalized learning in the online context through constructivist pedagogies and one-on-one learner-and-instructor co-planning conversations. It is a high-quality graduate program that is collaborative, innovative, and respectful of human and cultural diversity.
This program is designed for educators holding a Georgia PSC clear, renewable teaching certificate. If you do not hold a clear, renewable GA teaching certificate, please apply to the Personalized Learning "Certificate" program.
*NOTE: All Personalized Learning Endorsement candidates must have access/permission to teach a group of K-12 students in the candidate's certification field during the fall and spring semesters for ITEC 7602 and ITEC 7603. This is typically provided through a candidate's full time job. Other arrangements are permitted, but not provided. This placement is the responsibility of the candidate.
