Program Description

The M.Ed. in Instructional Technology offer specialized training in three pedagogical tracks: (1) P12 Technology Applications, for public school educators, (2) Library Media Specialist, for public school personnel, and (3) Corporate, for instructional designers and trainers in corporate and higher education settings.

All of the tracks offer up-to-date courses specially designed for their target audience. Successful completion of the P12 Technology Applications track and associated GACE exam leads to the awarding of the M.Ed. degree and a GaPSC service certificate at the 5th level in Instructional Technology. Completion of the Library Media Specialist track leads to the awarding of the M.Ed. degree and an initial GaPSC service certificate at the 5th level for P12 Library Media. The Non-P12 track awards the M.Ed. degree but does not require the GACE exam and doesn’t award a GaPSC service certificate.

In addition to earning an M.Ed. degree, students can take courses leading to an Online Teaching Endorsements (for P12 educators) or a Certificate in Online Teaching (for non-P12 educators/trainers). There also are courses on Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and project management to help prepare students for the industry certification exams.
