Master of Teaching - Early Childhood Education
If you want to teach elementary school, but do not hold a P-5 teacher certification or you hold a nonrenewable certificate, the Masters of Art in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Early Childhood Education (P-5) was designed for you. The M.A.T. leads to initial P-5 teaching certification and a master's degree, and is for those persons who hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in something other than P-5 Education. The program of study is designed to meet all content and method requirements for initial certification in 45-48 credit hours. Candidates are required to complete 900 clinical hours to meet certification requirements. These clinical hours are included in the courses in this program of study and may be completed at public school sites within the state of Georgia in the region in which the candidate lives.
