Program Description

The University of Georgia’s online M.S. in Financial Planning—offered through the College of Family and Consumer Sciences—is designed for individuals who are seeking to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) examination. Gain experience and expertise that goes beyond certification, all from the comfort and convenience of wherever you are.

This non-thesis master’s degree program is conducted in cooperation with the Board of Standards for the Certified Financial Planner® program. Financial planners are increasingly in demand as individuals and families seek advisers to help manage their income, assets, and debts. Financial planners find employment in banks, insurance companies, and brokerage firms, as well as in benefits and pension departments of corporations. Others, seeking a more entrepreneurial route, choose to establish their own practice or business.
