Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders
Program Description
The Post-Baccalaureate in Autism Spectrum Disorder is designed to offer graduate courses in instruction, assessment, and positive behavior supports, which provide educators with the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions to meet the needs of students with autism as outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification rule. This program consists of three graduate level courses, which focus on effective use of evidence-based/research-supported practices and concepts underlying the successful academic experiences and needs of this diverse population.
Candidates can complete the program fully-online.
Required embedded field experience with a child with autism can be completed in the candidate's own classroom or other approved setting.
Candidates who complete the certificate program may transfer up to 9 credit hours as part of the electives for the M.Ed. in Special Education.
