Degree Requirements Interdisciplinary Studies students must meet the following requirements to graduate from the College Arts and Humanities:
124 semester hours of credit with a minimum total institutional GPA of 2.0 and a 2.0 cumulative GPA in each Area of Study. At least 26 semester hours of credit in the Areas of Study must be taken at Georgia Southern University. At least 32 semester hours of the degree requirements must be earned through Georgia Southern University.
Areas of Study The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies is a flexible program that allows you to structure your degree to meet your individual interests and professional goals by building a degree program which includes three Areas of Study.
Choose three areas of study from the following options:
Business French German Instructional Technology Justice Studies Nonprofit Management Public Administration Public Policy Sociology Spanish Writing Students will have flexibility in choosing from a wide variety of upper-division courses in these areas of study each semester.
Federal law requires colleges and universities to make certain disclosures to prospective students of these programs. These disclosures include information on the University’s authority to operate outside of Georgia, complaint processes, adverse actions, and refunds. Accepted Students The Georgia Southern Online BIS is a cohort-driven program. A limited number of students are admitted each semester. Registration requirements are (1) completion of Admission or Former student process, AND (2) early registration and completion of Online Orientation (Online SOAR) via the Online BIS office listed below. Be sure to submit all admissions information as early as possible to have the best chance of registering for courses in the desired term. Be sure to read all of the Academic Renewal Policy if you were previously enrolled in a University System of Georgia school and are returning to finish your degree. Both newly admitted and readmitted students are required to complete the Online Orientation. For more information regarding the Online SOAR:

Academic Renewal and Exclusion The Academic Renewal policy [click Other Information > Readmission > Academic Renewal] allows students who are enrolled in the University System of Georgia to have a fresh start if they have had academic difficulties in the past.
Be aware of the academic exclusion policies that go went into effect Fall 2011 as well. The consequences of not being aware of this particular policy can cause significant delay in degree completion."
