Program Description

The primary candidate for this program is a certified educator with a Masters Degree seeking leadership certification to advance their career in educational administration. The Performance Based Ed.S in Educational Leadership addresses the Georgia Educational Leadership Standards using personalized and authentic learning experiences in the candidate's organizational setting. A residency requirement of 300 clock hours provides the candidate with the opportunity to address experiences across all standards. All course work is available online to support the organizational-based learning experiences. Candidates mentors and university professors support and facilitate the candidate's course work and residency. The program may be successfully completed in three semesters, each having 12 graduate credit hours, beginning in May 2017.

Candidates who have not had School Law or Leadership and Society will be required to take these additional courses before they can be considered as completers for certification. Successful completion of the program, including School Law and Leadership and Society as required, enables the candidate to apply for leadership certification with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
