Program Description

The M.S. Rehabilitation Counseling and Case Management Program, professionally accredited by The Council on Rehabilitation Counselor Education (CORE), focuses upon providing training for students who are interested in working as case managers for individuals with variety of disabilities. This program also requires extensive field experience.

It prepares professional rehabilitation counselors to work effectively with individuals who have physical, mental, or emotional disabilities, assisting them to achieve, to the fullest capacity, vocational, social, psychological and economic independence, and improved quality of life. Graduates of the Rehabilitation Counseling program and students with 75% of their coursework completed are eligible to sit for the national certifying examination in order to obtain the Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC) credential. In addition, graduates of the Rehabilitation Counseling program may be eligible for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia after gaining appropriate supervised practice and passing the State Composite board Examination for Professional Counselors."

Admissions Information

"Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution (in a related field to meet pre-requisites) and meet the following: Completed Graduate Studies Application, paid the application fee. Submit two transcripts showing cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 from a regionally accredited institution. Submit a personal and professional essay. Complete a phone or face-to-face interview. Submit a resume containing prior work experience, education, community service, and other relevant experience. Submit three reference letters. GRE and/or MAT scores may be used in the consideration for admission, but are not required. Undergraduate or graduate courses in research and statistics are not required but are highly recommended.  "
