Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies program offers students the option to create an individualized curriculum. This approach is different from many traditional, discipline-based baccalaureate programs. This approach allows students to blend new experiences, information, and perspectives into a comprehensive understanding. The flexibility enables students to develop academic plans in preparation for challenges and complexities of the workforce.

Beyond satisfying the core curriculum, Interdisciplinary Studies majors are required to select a concentration or minor based on their career interests, complete an internship, a capstone course, and concentration or minor electives. There are eight concentrations offered: Cultural Studies, Fine Arts Performance, Health and Discovery, Helping Professional, Organizational Enterprise, Social Justice and Corrections, Technology and Information Sciences, and Workforce Leadership. There are eleven minors offered: Business, Film and Entertainment Management, Marketing, Professional Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Math, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation or Health and Fitness.
