Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Liberal Studies
Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies program offers students the option to create an individualized curriculum. This approach is different from many traditional, discipline-based baccalaureate programs. This approach allows students to blend new experiences, information, and perspectives into a comprehensive understanding. The flexibility enables students to develop academic plans in preparation for challenges and complexities of the workforce.
Beyond satisfying the core curriculum, Liberal Studies majors are required to select an Arts and Sciences minor related to their career interests, complete an internship, a capstone course, and related electives. There are over twenty different minors to choose from in the areas of African American Studies, Art, Aviation Administration, Biology, Chemistry, Communication and Media Studies, Corporate Communication, Criminal Justice, Education Specialties, English, Film, Forensic Science, French, History, Homeland Security/Emergency Management, Music, Physics, Philosophy, Pre-Law, Physics, Social Work, Sociology, Spanish, Theatre, and Women’s Gender Studies.
