Course Description

3 class hours Prerequisite: Students must enroll in or exempt the Learning Support course in order to register for ENGL 1101. This is a composition course that focuses on skills required for effective writing in a variety of contexts, with emphasis on exposition, analysis, and argumentation, and also including introductory use of a variety of research skills. The course may be taught in conjunction with a computerized learning lab. To have ENGL 1101 credit applied toward meeting the requirements of a degree, a student must earn a grade of C or better.
